This is beautiful 2 bedroomed cottage in the quiet hamlet of Applethwaite at the foot of Skiddaw, 1.5 miles north of Keswick. It has stunning views and is very quiet and peaceful.
The cottage is part of a conversion of a 200-year-old barn.
Downstairs there is a lounge/diner with a range coal fire, two sofas, double sofa bed, table and chairs, TV, DVD and CD player. The kitchen has a cooker, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and washing machine.
Upstairs there is a double bedroom, and a bedroom with a double bed and bunk beds (with an extra single mattress under the bunk bed if needed and a travel cot). The bathroom has bath, shower, toilet and basin. There are electric heaters in all rooms except the bathroom.
To the front of the cottage are a small lawn, seating and a parking space. To the rear is a gravelled yard, picnic table, BBQ and an outhouse containing tumble dryer, iron and board, toys etc.

March-Oct £450 per wk (£70 per night short break,
not in school holidays, 2 nights minimum)
Nov-Feb £395 per wk (£60 per night short break, 2 nights min)
Weeks run from Saturday noon to Saturday noon.
Plus electricity at 45p/unit & coal at £4 per scuttle currently.
To keep costs down we do not employ a cleaner and ask that you clean the
cottage before you leave. You will also need to take your own sheets,
pillowcases, duvet covers & tea towels.
Unfortunately, because of the neighbouring cottages and the sheep & cattle
in the adjoining fields, we have to request that you do not take dogs.
We also ask that you do not smoke in the cottage
Activities
Keswick is at the heart of the Lake District with mountains, lakes & scores of
attractions. Here is a small selection:
Lake Derwentwater with launches, canoes, dinghies & windsurfs to hire,
Keswick leisure pool, The Theatre by the Lake, Keswick cinema,
Puzzling Place, Mirehouse & Gardens, cycle hire, Keswick climbing wall,
Keswick pencil museum, Lake District Wildlife Park, Hope and Fitz parks,
Go Ape, Keswick museum, Castlerigg Stone Circle, Keswick Brewery.
There are hundreds of walks and cycle routes, lots of outdoor shops
and dozens of good value pubs & restaurants
